As a reminder, if you have Celiac Disease and you are worried about cross-contamination with gluten products in a restaurant environment, you should always check with the restuarants about what kind of gluten free standards they use before you eat anything. Most restaurants do not have dedicated gluten free facilities. If you have severe intolerance, it is also a good idea to check with your doctor before you eat any foods labeled gluten free.

Thanks for the suggestion! Veg Express is a convenient drive-thru only spot just off the I-5 southbound exit for Ohio/State Street, and easy to access at 700 Ohio Street. I tried the gluten free Sweet Potato Black Bean Burrito with cheese, avocado, onions and hot sauce. It was delicious, warm and hearty. I’ll definitely be back for more. The menu also features gluten free garden burgers and grilled cheese. I even noticed gluten free Mexican Lasagna. It’s a great spot for a quick bite in between activities.

Have you tried Veg Express? Many gluten free options at Bellingham’s only drive thru vegetarian spot, 700 Ohio Street.
