Barkley VillageWhat trip would not be complete without a little retail therapy? Seek out treasures in locally owned shops. Find a one-of-a-kind Northwest crafted art piece in a cozy gallery. Maybe an antique store will have that special gift you need. All over the Bellingham Whatcom County you’ll discover variety, quality and selection.

Here’s a selection of special places and retail centers to begin your search:

Downtown Bellingham – A wealth of shopping, dining and cultural attractions can be found in the lively core of Bellingham.

A great idea for unique, educational gifts are the gift shops and galleries of our local museums. Check out the galleries at the Whatcom Museum, American Museum of Radio and Electricty in downtown Bellingham or the Lynden Pioneer Museum in downtown Lynden.

Barkley Square – Barkley Village is the retail center within Barkley District. It boasts a grocery store, various retail shops, locally based restaurants and various services.

Bellis Fair MallBellis Fair – The region’s largest mall, Bellis Fair has Macy’s, Kohls, Target, JC Penney, Sears, 140 specialty stores plus a 6-screen cinema.

Bellwether on the Bay – At this development on Squalicum Harbor you’ll discover unique shops, a first class hotel, fine dining, parks, waterfront trails and even bike, rollerblade and boat rentals.

Sunset Square – Located on Sunset Blvd. off I-5 on the way to Mt. Baker, Sunset Square has K-Mart, a grocery store, cinema and dozens of shops and restaurants.

Birch Bay Square – Located off I-5 Exit 270, this center has a variety of retail stores and will soon have a grocery store and restaurant.

You can also find unique shops, fine dining and locally made items in our communities, from historic Fairhaven to Lynden.
