Father’s Day Activities in Bellingham and Whatcom County

Sunday, June 18 is the day to honor Dad with a fun activity he’s sure to enjoy. Here’s a list of ideas in Bellingham and throughout the county:

Take Him Out to the Ballgame

This year, the Bellingham Bells are home on Father’s Day, against the Bend Elks at 3:05 p.m. What could be more fun than a day at the ballpark with Dad? The Bells really know how to have a good time. It’s family friendly, with games for kids, and food and beverage onsite. General admission is only $7 on the grassy hill (Bring Your Own Blankets) or metal bleachers, and Grandstand seating is $10.

Bellewood Acres Father’s Day on the Farm at Belle Wood Acres

If your Dad loves classic cars, take him to Bellewood Acres in Lynden from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 18 for Father’s Day on the Farm, featuring their annual car show, live rock and roll music , lawn games, and a barbeque lunch. There will also be a breakfast buffet avalible¬†from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The cost is $10.95 for adults and $7 for children.¬†Advance buffet tickets are available through bellewoodfarms.com. Come enjoy the car show and live music by Lost at Last for free! Bring dad and grandpa out for a good old time on the farm.

Tickets for the barbeque can be purchased at www.bellewoodfarms.com. The menu includes ribs and bibb, chicken drummettes, pork sliders, cole slaw, apple sauce, red bliss potato salad, green bean salad, corn on the cob, home-baked corn bread and strawberry shortcake.

To register your car for the car show, go to gearheadswc.com. Registration is $15 and profits local charities.

Buy Papa a Beer at Chuckanut Brewery

Chuckanut Brewery features a special reduced price on pints for Dad beginning at 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 18, for $4 pints all day for fathers. Kids and families are welcome in the Chuckanut dining room at 601 W. Holly St. For reservations call 360-752-3377.

Spark Museum of Electrical Invention features the MegaZapper show on Sundays at 2:30 p.m. with 10-foot arcs of purple lightning and 4 million volts of electricity from one of the largest Tesla coils in the nation. You’ve gotta see it to believe it. Combined with the Museum’s collection it is well worth the visit!

Take Dad to the Movies, Treat Him to a Pickford Movies

Bob’s Burger’s and Brew

You know what they say, “the secret to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” Check out Bob’s special Father’s Day menu at the Barkley, Birch Bay and Sumas locations starting at 9 a.m. – prime rib, jumbo prawns, hand-carved ham, omelette bar, biscuits and gravy, Belgian waffles (need I say more?).
