I hadn't planned to eat on my visit to the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, but when I saw the new food booth I realized I was hungry. So, I ordered at the counter and sat down. A delicious aroma was the first to hit my senses as a hearty Migas breakfast taco was cheerfully delivered to my table. A warm, crunchy taste was second, followed by just the right amount of spice on this wonderful creation at the new StrEAT Food location.

Sunshine reflecting off Bellingham Bay and a gorgeous panorama of the Fairhaven neighborhood across the water filled my view while I ate. Inner peace began to take over as I enjoyed my morning.
Wildly acclaimed in Bellingham for their successful food truck, StrEAT Food opened a permanent food booth at the Cruise Terminal in December 2013. It is open for breakfast, lunch and coffee Wednesday through Saturday (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and stays open until 6 p.m. for early dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, which is when the Alaska Ferry departs for the north.
True to the StrEAT Food style, the menu features unique items such as Orange Almond French Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Parsnip Pulled Pork Hash during the morning hours. Lunch items take center stage at 11 a.m. including Shrimp and Grits (I've tasted this one - it is amazing), Chicken Artichoke Sandwich, the popular StrEAT burger and an ever changing specials board.
If you can make it here for dessert - do! You'll melt in your chair as you taste either the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee or the Chocolate Malt Pot de Creme, which I have enjoyed at previous StrEAT Food meals. The Bellingham Cruise Terminal is open year-round at 355 Harris Street and is home to a variety of water adventures in Bellingham, including San Juan Cruises, Schooner Zodiac, Gato Verde Adventure Sailing and the Alaska Marine Highway. It's a beautiful public building with a gorgeous view in all types of weather. The indoor seating area is a great spot to meet a friend, gather as a group or just take some time to relax and enjoy the waterfront.
