The second annual Kids Math and Science Expo in Lynden, WA will feature US Astronaut Wendy Lawrence who will be personally demonstrating the use of a wind tunnel. The Expo will be Saturday November 3, 2018, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Haggen Expo Building, Northwest Washington Fairgrounds. This popular county wide event includes activities and information to inspire children in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Exhibitors and sponsors for the Expo include businesses, non-profit organizations, public and private schools, and children’s clubs. Free to children and adults, the Expo attracted over 1,200 participants last year and the organizers anticipate even larger numbers this year. The Lynden Noon Kiwanis Club leads the planning of the Expo as a service to the children of the area. Exhibitors design their booths for children from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Among the activities expected are Lego robotics, marine wildlife, making of rocket ships, microscope adventure, magnetics, chess, and much more. Additional supporting organizations include Launching Success Learning Store, Bricks and Beyond, Whatcom Educational Credit Union, and Peoples Bank.
