Bellingham, Blaine and the Semiahmoo peninsula offer lots of options

You can stay close yet feel far away just 80 kilometers from Vancouver. With two interesting and very walkable neighborhoods to explore—downtown Bellingham and Fairhaven—visitors will find a small-town America allure. Even closer, Semiahmoo Resort, Golf and Spa, has more to offer than its famous golf courses: it’s the perfect getaway for R&R and great dining. All we can hear from our beach-front balcony is the call of loons. Close to shore sea lions pop up their heads and in the distance is White Rock—so close yet so far. You can easily fill a few days at Semiahmoo with activities, from kayaking and paddle boarding to tennis and volleyball. We opted for “softer activities” like beachcombing and birdwatching (no wonder Canada geese flock here) in between spa treatments and a few laps around the pool. Read full feature here.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
