Bellingham Yacht Club Lighted Boat Parade

The Bellingham Yacht Club celebrates Holiday Magic with the Lighted Boat Parade on December 3, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. (weather permitting). The best public viewing spots are Boulevard Park and the Fairhaven Cruise Terminal.

All boaters are invited to participate and registrants are eligible to win prizes. Some parade participants plan elaborate displays and spend hours decorating. Last year’s winner used over 3,000 LED lights.

"The Lighted Boat Parade is a holiday tradition that lights up the Bay” Commodore Cathy Herbold commented. She added, “Safety is extremely important and we are fortunate to have the Coast Guard providing oversight during the parade."

A holiday party follows the parade at the Bellingham Yacht Club for members, guests and registered parade participants.

More information about the parade is available at https://byc.org/event/vKvGPP3UKI.

It’s not too late to join the BYC. New members are always welcomed and neither boat ownership nor sponsorship is required.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
