Travelogue: "Introduction to Independent (and Cheaper) Travel Within Japan" By Jeff Eastman

Bellingham Parks & Recreation, in partnership with Whatcom Museum, bring you Travelogue, an armchair journey to spectacular and interesting places.

Jeff Eastman spent 20+ years of his life living in Japan and now knows the ins and of outs of traveling through this amazing country. Group tours of Japan are normally quite expensive. This presentation is designed to show you how you can visit the Land of the Rising Sun for much less money and get along just fine. No Japanese language required, just a sense of adventure combined with a desire to see some beautiful scenery and meet some very courteous people.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
