Gallery Night with Casey Burge

Casey Burge, of Fox and Moon Press, is a fine artist with a Masters in Fine Art from the New York Academy of Art who enjoys portraying stories through symbolic representations of animals and nature primarily in the medium of Printmaking. As a mother of two, Casey enjoys printmaking next to her little ones as well as taking family hikes alongside her husband throughout Whatcom County.

Back in 2015, Casey bought a rusty relief press, took it apart, and made it like new. She still uses it today to print up to 24” x 36” carvings. For three semesters, she taught beginning Drawing, Design, and Printmaking at McNeese State University as a Visiting Lecturer and subsequently decided to start her art business.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
