Whatcom Hills Waldorf School Presents: Baba the Storyteller

Whatcom Hills Waldorf School is excited to announce an all-ages community event with Baba the Storyteller on Tuesday, January 21st at 6:30pm at Bellingham High School! Baba the Storyteller is one of the few recognized U.S. born practitioners of the ancient West African storytelling craft known as Jaliyaa, and has received numerous awards for his work as a folklorist, musician, storyteller, and community leader.

We have invited Baba to our school for two days of sessions this month, and since his visit falls between MLK Day and Treaty Day, we wanted to offer his timely sharing to our wider community as well. We hope you will come enjoy Baba's stories, music and wisdom! Entry is by suggested donation (just to help us cover the cost of the venue) and should not be a barrier - all are welcome!

Starts: January 21, 2025

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Admission: By Donation

Location: Bellingham High School
2020 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham , WA 98225

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
