Event Details:

Venture onto the teeming waters of Puget Sound with us in search of abundant sea birds making their way along the Pacific Flyway in Northwest waters. Aboard the Snow Goose, a spacious 65-foot research vessel captained by Dan Linden, we’ll explore the waters of Bellingham Bay, Lummi Island and surrounding areas in search of harlequin, long-tailed ducks, pacific loons, black oystercatchers, surf scoters and others. Past excursions have also spotted marine mammals and enjoyed spectacular views of Mt. Baker, the Chuckanut Mountains, the Nooksack River estuary, Rosario Strait and San Juan Islands from our unique water-level perspective. With more than 50 years observing and photographing birds, Joe Meche will help us identify and share the natural history of the bird species we encounter along the way. Rain or shine, all levels of birders welcome! With binoculars and field guides in hand, we’ll depart for our day’s adventure in search of all the avifauna we can find.
