CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival and American Association of University Women present “Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché” to celebrate International Women’s Day. Blaché, the first female film director, made her first film in 1896 at age 23 and then went on to write, direct, or produce more than 1,000 films. Part tribute, part detective story, the film traces the circumstances by which this extraordinary artist faded from memory and the path toward her reclamation. Directed by Pamela Green. Run time: 103 minutes. Tickets are $10 / $5 students with ID and are available at Brown Paper Tickets.

A post-film reception will be hosted by co-sponsor American Association of University Women.
