HomesNOW! will celebrate the completion of our first two tiny homes for the homeless with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ribbon-cutting celebration will include remarks by Jim Peterson, President of HomesNOW! and an opportunity to tour the tiny homes at Safe Haven.
The tiny homes are the first of 20 homes that will be built for Unity Village, a tiny home village for the homeless that will be located in Fairhaven near the Post Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.
HomesNOW’s mission is to end homelessness one person at a time. HomesNOW! has successfully run two tent encampments in Bellingham (Winter Haven and Safe Haven) and built three tiny homes on Lummi Nation, which have helped 17 people find permanent housing and 9 people find employment. HomesNOW!’s goal is to provide a safe place for homeless people to live and keep their belongings while they look for permanent housing.
