Event Details:

In a normal year, the first weekend in December, the village at Pioneer Park, in Ferndale would have been opened to guests during the Olde Fashioned Christmas event. Due to covid restrictions, that event isn’t allowed to take place this year.

Instead, volunteers of the Ferndale Heritage Society will host a “Lighted Christmas Stroll Through Pioneer Village” event. This first-time event is a “giving back to our community” labor of love after the restricted year we have all endured. The first three weekends in December, Pioneer Village will be open Friday and Saturday evenings.

Thanks to those board stamped concrete sidewalk in Pioneer Village, home to 15 historic log cabins, you won’t even get your feet wet as you stroll around the cabins, see all the park lit up, hear Christmas music and see costumed volunteers greet you as you feel the holiday cheer spill into the winter air.

Young guests are encouraged to prewrite their letters to Santa and mail them in the Santa mailbox that will be located by the Barrett Post Office. The letters need to have their names and a legible mailing address to help Santa return them. Bring your cameras as a photo booth will be created at the Barr Barn lean to. Unfortunately, Santa isn’t making a personal appearance at the park this year.
