This 5.5-acre property along Kendall Creek serves as exceptional habitat, creating a unique wildlife observation area, especially for birds. It is also the siteof a future educational area for the local school, Kendall Elementary. Unfortunately, Harrison’s wetland areas are inundated with Reed Canary grass. Willow staking is a great way to shade out that pesky grass – please join NSEA, Whatcom Land Trust, and Whatcom Conservation District at Harrison and plant willows in the ground to improve habitat! Parking: From Bellingham, drive east on Mt. Baker Highway (WA-542-E) past Deming to Kendall. At the traffic circle in Kendall, take the second exit toward Sumas (WA-547). Parking is available at Kendall Elementary School (7547 Kendall Rd., Maple Falls).
We’ll bring the tools and gloves – all you have to do is wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate
clothing. Snacks courtesy of The Bagelry, Starbucks Coffee, and the Community Food Co-Op. Coffee provided thanks to NSEA’s official coffee
