Whatcom READS hosts free community events that reflect themes found in each year’s selected title. This year’s community one-read selection is “Washington Black” by Esi Edugyan.
To explore the theme of illustration and the natural world, Whatcom READS welcomes artist Molly Hashimoto. Discover how painting watercolors, creating prints, and writing, are all ways to honor remarkable wild places, birds and wildlife.
Molly Hashimoto’s work has been published as notecards, holiday cards, calendars and children’s books. She is the author of two books: “Colors of the West: An Artist’s Guide to Nature’s Palette” and “Birds of the West: An Artist’s Guide.” Pre-registration is required to attend this virtual event.
