Fall is a great time to experience Bellingham and Whatcom County. With cool temperatures and changing leaves, it's the perfect season to take a scenic drive, go on a walk or hike to see fall colors, or head out for a bike ride.

Prefer to stay inside? Enjoy Bellingham's local art and culture. Whether you're into theater and music or museums and galleries, there's enough to keep you busy the whole season.

Taste New Fall Brews

Bellingham and Whatcom County are home to dozens of popular craft breweries and tap houses. Spend the fall on a crawl through the area to taste all the new brews on tap.

You must be 21-years or older to consume alcohol. Please do not drink and drive. Bellingham has many alternative transportation options.

Savor Local Fall Food

Eating local in Bellingham and Whatcom County means celebrating local farms and the markets and restaurants that feature their goods. Enjoy the abundance that autumn brings to Whatcom's food community—from farm to table and back again.

There is a also a special fall event, the Whatcom County Farm Tour, that offers people the chance to meet who grows and raises our food.

Some annual fall activities in Bellingham and Whatcom County:

U-pick Apples - Walk or take a ride in the apple bin express out to the sweeping orchard at Bellewood Farms where you can pick a variety of apples.
Pumpkin Patches – Making a fall visit to Stoney Ridge Farm and Dan Cramer's Western Town will be a hit with people of all ages.
North Cascades Bluegrass Festival – This festival includes delightful food, a beer garden, a main stage with nonstop music, and so much more!
Halloween – Whatcom County offers a variety of Halloween activities perfect for little ghouls and goblins (and their parents) to take part in throughout the season. Businesses also open their doors in Downtown Bellingham, Fairhaven, and Ferndale for annual trick-or-treating events.
Gore & Lore Tour – Join the Good Time Girls for a creepy look into Bellingham’s scariest tales and real-life horror stories.
Doctober – Each October, the Pickford Film Center hosts Doctober, a month-long documentary film festival. It’s the largest documentary festival in the northwest, screening more than 30 films in three weeks!
Bleedingham – This festival features short films that showcase the blood-curdling creativity of PNW filmmakers from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
Bellingham Exit - This new multi-day, multi-stage, multi-sensory music & arts festival in downtown Bellingham, WA is all about the unexpected!
SeaFeast - Celebrate food, fishing, art, and music at this weekend festival on the Bellingham waterfront!
