This time of year, we seem to spend more time at home, waiting for the rain to let up so we can get out and play. But if you’re like me, you also welcome the chance to slow down, hibernate a bit and recharge the batteries. Being home feels good during winter’s dark days and long nights. It’s all about balance, right?
However, all that time spent inside means you just might notice that your home needs a bit of a recharge, too. If you’ve been surrounded by the same art, lamps and pillows for years, you’re probably in need of a fresh look. And I have just the place for you!
Grandiflora Home & Garden has been a shopper’s dream since 2000. Located in the heart of Lynden, the store carries a huge variety of home goods, seasonal and garden décor, stationery and fashion accessories, beautifully displayed throughout its 4,000 square feet. Trust me, you’ll have no trouble finding something that tickles your fancy, whether you’re on the hunt for wall art, fun and inspirational signs, candles, great-looking home organization products, party supplies, wedding décor or a gift for someone special.
I walked around the store with Grandiflora’s visual merchandiser, Colleen, who pointed out some of the home décor trends they’ve seen both nationally and regionally.
Black and White
And how could we forget that Valentine’s Day will soon be upon us? Grandiflora has everything you need to make your sweetheart happy, especially if he or she is not the candy type. Besides, these gifts will stick around so much longer. Note the “truly madly deeply” signs, perfect for fans of the Alan Rickman movie.
And if Valentine’s Day goes well, there could be wedding bells on the horizon. Grandiflora has loads of charming supplies and décor to give any wedding a contemporary look.
Keep the love going long after the honeymoon is over, with these cute pillows and signs.
For the Do-it-Yourselfers
Grandiflora is an Authorized Dealer of Decorative Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. This amazing paint will cover anything—wood, plastic, laminate—you name it. Look for specials on the colors of the month. For January, they are Pure White, Antoinette and Graphite.
Grandiflora also carries high-quality consigned items at great prices, such as painted furniture, hand-painted signs and artwork from local artists.
The first thing you notice when you walk through Grandiflora’s door is the lovely fragrance wafting through the air. Thanks to a large selection of high-quality candles, soaps and natural sprays, your home can smell as good as it looks.
Here you’ll find everything you need to make a party special, from bright-colored straws and napkins to some of the prettiest wrapping paper ever. And for the adults, cool metallic cocktail napkins and straws will add a fun touch to your next get-together.
Grandiflora’s store owners and buyers were away in Atlanta last week, working the International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. Colleen mentioned that lots of new merchandise will be coming through the door in the weeks to come, filling up the spaces left by the recent holiday season. I didn’t notice a lack of merchandise at all—in fact, I ran out of space for all the photos I took. I’m excited to make a return trip soon to see all the new stuff!
