2017 Ski to Sea Block Party at Boundary Bay Brewery May 26

Whatcom Events is gearing up for Ski to Sea weekend and it all starts with the Ski to Sea Block Party at Boundary Bay Brewery in downtown Bellingham. Head to the beer garden on Friday, May 26 for one of the biggest annual parties in Bellingham. The party starts at 5 p.m. and continues until 11 p.m. This is a free, all ages event. Bring the whole family and get pumped for the 45th annual Ski to Sea race on Sunday, May 28th. Enjoy a pint of the Ski to Sea ESB, the official beer of the race. It is available on tap at Boundary Bay, as well as to-go in growlers and 12 oz cans. $1 of every pint purchased will go towards Whatcom Events. Boundary Bay will have the BBQ fired up, the beer will be flowing, and there will be live performances by Jasmine Greene & The Atlantics. Everyone who attends will receive a free raffle ticket for prizes generously donated by local restaurants, breweries and businesses. The Raffles will be at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and you must be present to win. Whatcom Events will also be selling Raffles Tickets for two packages:

  • The Grand Prize- a Sunset Cruise for two with Gato Verde, a Suite at the Chrysalis Inn, dinner at Mambo Italiano and two Pints at Stones Throw Brewery. Valued at $515, tickets will sell for $10 each or three for $25.
  • The Top Prize- two entries to the Tour de Whatcom Bicycle Ride July 29th and a night stay at the Springhill Suites Bellingham. Valued at $290, tickets will sell for $5 each. You do not need to be present to win the packages.
All proceeds from the raffle will go to Whatcom Events, a non-profit organization. Our Mission Statement is sustainable management of the Ski to Sea Race and other events that showcase the diverse natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities Whatcom County has to offer and to support local nonprofit community organizations. We rely almost exclusively on our incredible team of more than 1000 volunteers to pull off these vibrant community events as our Executive Director, all Officers, and Race Committee members are uncompensated volunteers. Each year, we hope that our volunteer efforts and the generosity of our sponsors result in net profits that we can donate to local 501(c)(3) charitable beneficiaries. Last year did not result in a net profit and we, of course, want to change that this year so we can continue to put on this iconic event. Get ready for the Annual Ski to Sea Block Party.         We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
