2019 Port of Bellingham Gingerbread Contest Winners

On Dec. 6-8, 2019 The Port of Bellingham celebrated the 29th year of Holiday Port at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. Thanks to generous donations by Haggen, San Juan Cruises and BP all activities were free.

One of the most beloved aspects of the event is the annual gingerbread contest. The Bellingham community submitted a total of 81 gingerbread structures this year. The top three People’s choices winners were the builders of:

  1. Cuidad de la Muerta by the Miller/Roberts Family
  2. Jack Skellington’s House by the Hildenbrand Family
  3. Hovander Tower by the Stiles Family

The contest was free, and open to bakers of all ages and abilities. The First place winner for the People’s Choice award receives a cruise from San Juan Cruises. Many entrants chose to enter their edible structures in a silent auction which raised $632.00 for Toys for Tots. Category winners will be mailed place ribbons in the coming week.

In Addition, 32 performance groups entertained the crowds at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal over 3 days.  Belle, Elsa and Cinderella as well as Mr. and Mrs. Claus all made appearances at Holiday Port.

Everyone snapped photos, got artistic, ate cookies and drank cider to ring in the Holiday Season. The Port of Bellingham would like to thank the community for their support and participation!
