A new cookbook titled The Weeknight Mediterranean Kitchen goes on sale Tuesday, July 24. It is published by Bellingham resident and author Samantha Ferraro, founder of The Little Ferraro Kitchen food blog, and features 80 authentic, healthy and easy recipes that can be made on even the busiest of weeknights. Samantha's recipes have been featured in PBS Food, the Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, Babble, Yummly, and the Washington Post. She has also been the Los Angeles Times Food Holiday Baking Winner. With Samantha’s fresh and simple meals, readers can enjoy all of the amazing flavors and benefits of the Mediterranean diet, no matter how hectic their schedule. “Cooking is an art, but it doesn’t have to be time-consuming,” writes Samantha in the introduction. “Aromatic, flavor-punched meals should and can be enjoyed every day of the week.” Village Books will host Samantha for two free special events in August:

  • Wednesday, August 1, 3:30 p.m. - Samantha Ferraro at the Wednesday Market! Visit the Wednesday Farmers Market on the Village Green for a demo and samples from Samantha's new cookbook.         We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
