Alex Klein, master of the oboe, joins the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra – virtually – on April 11 at 1:00 p.m. “What can I say about Alex that hasn’t already been said. Welcome back?” says Music Director Yaniv Atttar.
Klein has performed with the BSO before, and is an audience favorite wherever he goes. “This is a unique opportunity to see Mr. Klein’s technical brilliance up close, from the comfort of your living room,” says Executive Director Gail Ridenour. “While we all wish we could perform in person, we are keeping safety first. The silver lining we are finding is how much enjoyment our audience gets from the personal experience of having brilliant musicians “visit” their home, and Alex’s musical talents are truly legendary.”
The Bellingham Symphony Orchestra is proud to be at the forefront of virtual concerts by presenting their online season, Second Sundays: At Home with the BSO. Each concert features a soloist, an interview with the soloist, and a special performance featuring musicians from the BSO.
Concerts are available free on concert day through the BSO website, City of Bellingham’s BTV, and KMRE 102.3 FM. After concert day, they move to a paid subscription model. Subscriptions can be purchased for an individual concert or for the entire season. Concerts a/o the entire season can also be purchased for viewing around the world through the BSO’s Vimeo channel.
The BSO is a proud partner in the Whatcom Arts Project.
