Boundary Bay Brewery and Shifting Gears to Host Bellingham Bike Swap March 10

Boundary Bay Brewery and Shifting Gears will host the 2018 Bellingham Bike Swap. The event will take place On March 10, 2018 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Mountain Room at Boundary Bay. Entry is free and the event is open to guests of all ages.

The swap will provide the perfect opportunity for local adventurers to update their collection of cycling and hiking gear at an affordable cost while supporting community-focused recreational programs.

“We spend winters dreaming about summertime adventures – what to do, where to go and of course, what new gear to add to our wishlists,” said  Kari Humphreys, Shifting Gears co-founder. “The Bellingham Bike Swap comes at the perfect time to spring clean the garage, ridding it of usable items no longer needed, and to start gearing up for upcoming seasons.”

New and used bicycles, as well as a wide variety of biking gear and clothing will be available for sale. A portion of the proceeds from all sales will benefit new recreational programs through Shifting Gears.

Those who would like their gear to be sold at the swap can register at www.letsshiftgears.com/bike-swap. A $20 booth fee applies to participating local businesses. Individuals can register for free.

Shifting Gears is a local non-profit organization that provides cycling and hiking programs for the community. The organization is passionate about biking, hiking, finding joy and freedom, women’s empowerment, and equity in recreation and the community. Information about programs and workshops is available at www.letsshiftgears.com.

Boundary Bay Brewery is an independently owned and operated brewpub located in downtown Bellingham. Since 1995, they’ve been making handcrafted beer and fresh, local food for the Bellingham community. Boundary Bay Brewery houses a Taproom, family-friendly Bistro, outdoor dining with a patio and a beer garden.
