February Beer Release and Events on Tap at Aslan Brewing

Aslan Brewing in downtown Bellingham, WA features the following beer release and special events for February 2017.

Beer coming in February:
February 10: Classic Light Lager
Look for a new rotating IPA in mid-February.

February Events
February 3, 5 pm – 10 pm, Downtown Art Walk: Sterling Magnum at Aslan Brewing
1330 N Forest St, Bellingham, WA 98225
Sterling Magnum has been involved in extreme individual sports since a very young age. He experimented with Linoleum cut prints in school, and it soon became his medium of choice. “I have always loved the raw bold image they produced and figured if I could somehow create linocut prints from action photos it may be pretty interesting,” he says. “Turns out….they are.” All his linocut prints are hand-rolled. No two are the same, some more heavily loaded with ink while some are more lightly so. When he finds one that stands out, he has screens burned and prints them onto apparel, from shirts to hats.
Check out his artwork and his apparel at www.balancelifestyleco.com.

February 7, 6 pm – 8 pm, Lego Build Night at Aslan Brewing
1330 N Forest St, Bellingham, WA 98225
Build. Play. Eat. Drink. Be a kid again and enjoy a night of LEGO building at Aslan. Just bring yourself and your imagination — we’ll provide all the legos! We’re donating 10 percent of drink sales to Inner Child Studio. All ages welcome. Presented by Inner Child Studio.

February 25, 5 pm – 10 pm, Washington Beer Open House at Aslan Brewing
1330 N Forest St, Bellingham, WA 98225
Join us as brewers around the state open their doors for Washington beer fans. Get to know our brewery staff as we take you on a tour of our brand-new 30 bbl system. Our open house tours begin every half hour, complete with tastings off the brite tank, cornhole, games, and prizes. We’ll be giving out free taster glasses to the first 50 WABL members to take a tour.

Current beer on tap at Aslan Brewing Co.
Coming on February 10: Classic Light Lager
Look for a new rotating IPA in mid-February!

Here are the other new beers to catch on tap at the brewery.

Dunkelweizen

5.5% ABV // 15 IBU // 1.058 OG
silky + chocolatey + smooth

A German style, Dunkelweizen, is a dark wheat ale (dunkel=dark, weizen=wheat). Wheat is the major component of the grain bill, contributing a silky mouthfeel and creamy head. A combination of Munich, caramel, and chocolate malts create a malt profile that is rich, nutty, and slightly sweet. Subtle chocolate and roasted notes make for a sessionable winter beer.

HOPS: Jarrylo, Sterling
MALT: Wheat, Munich, Pilsner, Chocolate, C-60, Carafa

Double OG (Strong Pale Ale)

Our collab with Elliot Bay Brewing Co. is back!
6.4% ABV // 40 IBU // 1.064 OG
medium body + mandarin orange notes + hazy

A heady fruitiness dominates the overall impression of this beer with strong, enduring mandarin orange flavors. The primary hop varietal is Azacca, with a peppering of Mosaic and Simcoe in the whirlpool and dry hop. An assertive yet pleasant bitterness provides balance to the fruit-dominant character of this beer.

HOPS: Azacca, Bravo, Mosaic, Simcoe
MALT: 2-Row Pale, Acidulated, Caramunich, Munich

Megathrust Triple IPA

9.99% ABV // 57 IBU // 1.100 OG

big body + mango, pineapple, & melon notes + tropical

For the third year in a row we bring you Megathrust, an over-the-top IPA, named for the largest potential earthquake set to hit the Pacific Northwest. This version is decidedly the best rendition to date. Its smooth mouth feel is complemented by eruptions of tropical fruit and well-placed bitterness. Made with 100% malt, hopped at 5 lbs/barrel.

Hops: Bravo, Cascade, Chinook, Citra, Mosaic
Malt: 2-Row Pale, Wheat
