Join in a Safe Way to Share Holiday Joy from Your Kitchen: Calling all Whatcom Gingerbread Artists!

Whatcom County bakers are invited to participate in two virtual ways to share their festive gingerbread creations and the joy from their kitchens this holiday.

Port Festival Gingerbread Houses 3

Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism: #BEGingerFestive

Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism invites you to take a picture or short video of your creation and post it to Instagram or Facebook with the tag #BeGingerFestive. Share your inspiring (or frustrating) bake—and also the warmth of your home and the love of the people who made it!

Anyone who posts will be entered into a contest to win one of three, $100 ThinkLocalFirst Gift Cards—redeemable at local businesses across the county. There will be one random draw from all entries, and some surprise judges for Facebook and Instagram. Individuals, “quaranteams,” businesses—all are welcome to share.

Don’t have a handle on hashtags? Email a picture and description to media@bellingham.org. Whether you email or post, get your entry in before 2021 arrives . . . winners will be announced the first week in January. Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism might also use your creation as a shining example of the wonders of Whatcom County on Bellingham.org for years to come.

Jolly Elves at the Port of Bellingham

In addition to wondrous COVID-smart outdoor activities for the holidays, the Port of Bellingham invites you to submit your gingerbread creation photos to events@portofbellingham.com. A Port of Bellingham spokesperson noted that their team of elves will put all the photos together and create a video to remember how we celebrated in 2020.

Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism is an independent, 501 (c) (6) nonprofit, economic development organization whose purpose is to improve the economy by marketing Bellingham Whatcom County as a premier, year-round visitor, sports, outdoor recreation, arts and cultural, and meetings destination, which supports all travel, tourism, and hospitality businesses and nonprofits in Whatcom County.
