Lend Us Your Ears, the new reading series at the Bellingham Theatre Guild, continues with the great American playwright Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, on February 3 at 2 p.m. at the Bellingham Theatre Guild, 1600 H St., Bellingham. The Pay-What-You-Will performance, directed by Shawn Fuller, follows the tragedy of an acclaimed architect whose risky behavior and unusual affair shockingly tests his marriage, status, and family. This exploration of the nature and boundaries of love and fidelity features local actors Christopher Coombs, Teri Grimes, Sean Walbeck, and Jordan Phelps. One of Pulitzer-winner Albee’s most acclaimed works, and subject of a successful London revival, The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? contains adult language and extremely adult situations and is in no way or manner appropriate or suitable for children or for adult audience members who are easily offended. Lend Us Your Ears, with a mission that good plays read well, produces matinee readings with local actors in front of the curtains, with general admission seating and the audience choosing what it wants to pay. No reservations necessary and any questions can be directed to Bellingham Theatre Guild Vice President of Production Sean Walbeck (sean@gigglewax.com, 360-647-9242). Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. The Bellingham Theatre Guild is a volunteer theater that has been serving the Whatcom County community since 1927. More information about BTG can be found at www.bellinghamtheatreguild.com.
