Public Education Program: How Climate Change is playing out in the Northwest March 23

The League of Women Voters of Bellingham / Whatcom County invites the public to attend an education program by David Roberts on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship. Mr. Roberts, Principal at Kulshan Services, will give a presentation, including some surprising slides, showing the impact of climate change for the Bellingham community and will offer some steps to mitigate these challenges.

Following the presentation by Mr. Roberts, representatives from the Bellingham Climate Action Plan Task Force and Whatcom County Climate Impact Advisory Committee will give updates on their findings and action plans. Bring your questions for these city and county citizen advisory groups and learn more about their plans for mitigating climate change impacts in Bellingham and Whatcom County, as well as steps we can all take individually.

David Roberts is the owner of Kulshan Services, which assists organizations of all types with strategic planning, analysis, facilitation, and public engagement. The company’s primary focus is to help clients build sustainable and resilient communities and organizations. Mr. Roberts is currently facilitating the City of Bellingham’s Climate Action Plan Task Force as well as the Floodplains Integration Planning Team for Whatcom County. He has worked in the areas of sustainability, environmental management, and land stewardship for over 35 years, serving both in government and as a private consultant.

Join us at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship, 1207 Ellsworth Street, Bellingham, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We welcome attendees to arrive early to chat and have a cup of coffee; doors will open at 9:30 a.m.
