Flow Motion is Ferndale's only healing spa and yoga sanctuary, perfect for a solo getaway, couples, or groups. From Flow Motion's website:
"The amethyst cave seats four people and is covered in amethyst crystal clusters of varying lavender, lilac, violet, and deep purple hues hailing from Brazil and Uruguay. Artistically created stalactites help create a cave-like feel where the earth surrounds you and the softly illuminated rare white Himalayan salt walls reveal the brilliant sparkle of the amethyst. . .
All gemstones and minerals have a unique frequency or vibration. Amethyst, an excellent conductor of infrared wavelengths, is boosted by the infrared heated floor, supplying its own healing benefits."
Bioluminescence occurs when living organisms emit light due to a chemical reaction; think of fireflies or glowworms. Some bioluminescent organisms, namely a kind of marine plankton, can be found in the waters near Bellingham, Washington, typically between the months of June and September. When you disrupt the water where these organisms live (like with a kayak paddle), the effect is a glowing blue or green color.
Experience this magical phenomenon firsthand by kayaking at night in the Salish Sea. Remember to always recreate responsibly.
