Hunger vs. Hunger Finish Line Celebration at Stones Throw Brewery

Join us for the 5th Annual Hunger vs. Hunger Finish Line Celebration, a powerful community fundraiser supporting the Bellingham Food Bank. What started in 2021 as a personal mission to address COVID-related food insecurity has grown into a movement. Founded by Ethan Hunger, Hunger vs. Hunger has raised over $390,000 in just four years, with support growing from two sponsors to more than fifty.

But the need has grown even faster - the Bellingham Food Bank now serves more families and spends more on food than any other food bank in Washington State. On Saturday, July 19th, Ethan will push his limits once again in an epic one-day endurance feat, burning as many calories as possible to raise awareness for food insecurity in Whatcom County.

His 2025 challenge includes:

12:00am: 120-mile road bike to Artist Point and back

8:00am: 1-hour HIIT class at JD Elite

9:30am: Swim the entire length of Lake Whatcom (~11 miles)

6:00pm: Mountain bike ~7 miles at Galbraith

7:15pm: Run to the finish line at Stones Throw Brewery in Fairhaven

Finish Line Celebration: Come cheer Ethan on as he completes this intense journey! Join us at Stones Throw Brewery for live music from The Legendary Chucklenuts, delicious eats from the Galley2Go Food Truck, and a gathering of friends and neighbors committed to making a difference.

10% of all brewery revenue from 5-10pm will be donated to the Bellingham Food Bank. With 20% of Whatcom County relying on food banks each week, your support truly matters. The Bellingham Food Bank operates with a 94% program expense ratio, ensuring nearly every dollar goes directly to those in need. Let’s come together to raise a glass, raise awareness, and raise funds to fight hunger in our community.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
