Easter Activities in Bellingham and Whatcom County

It’s finally spring – and the Easter Bunny is on its way! Get out the baskets and get the kids ready to search for eggs and consume chocolate bunnies. Festivities happen throughout Bellingham and Whatcom County in April 2019, including Easter egg hunts, Easter Bunny photos, Easter Brunch and even an Easter Keg Hunt for the grown ups. Here’s a full list to help coordinate your plans. Easter Sunday is April 21, 2019.

Mount Baker Ski Area Golden Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 13  from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: Mount Baker Ski Area

Cost: Ski ticket for anyone 10 years or older ($59)

Head up to Mt. Baker Ski Area for the Ultimate Golden Egg Hunt. There will be more than 6,000 eggs hidden on the slopes, but there is only one Golden Egg. Whoever finds the Golden Egg will win a 2019-20 ski pass.

Egg hunts will be organized according to age. Kids will also receive a free t-shirt. Participants 10 years and older must purchase a lift ticket to participate.

NCCTK Easter Fun

When: Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon

Where: North County Christ the King, 1835 Liberty St., Lynden

Cost: Free

NCCTK kicks-off Easter week with a Fun Fair. Enjoy live music, crafts, wagon rides, a dunk tank, face painting, games and more. The Fun Fair is free and all are welcome to attend. Activities are geared towards kids ages 2-10.

Easter Bunny Photos at PetSmart

When: Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 from noon to 4 p.m.

Where: Bellingham PetSmart, 4379 Guide Meridian St., Bellingham

Cost: Free

Free photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny! The whole family is welcome, especially pets.

BelleWood Acres Blossom Walk

When: Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: BelleWood Acres, 6140 Guide Meridian, Lynden

Cost: Free

BelleWood’s apple blossoms are in bloom and it is a sight to see. Take a stroll in the orchard or enjoy a free train ride through the fields. BelleWood will be serving breakfast and lunch. Free tastings of their farm-to-bottle spirits will also be available.

BelleWood Acre’s Easter Celebration

When: Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: BelleWood Acres, 6140 Guide Meridian, Lynden

Cost: $7 per child, adults are free

The annual spring celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days includes an Easter egg hunt with prizes for children, photos with the Easter bunny, live entertainment, a petting zoo, face painting, pony rides and tractor train rides through the blossoming orchards. Admission is only $7 for children and adults are free.

Dana’s Music Playhouse will be engaging children with energetic songs and play at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 20. Fiddler Kera-Lynne Newman and Jan Peters on bouzouki and harmonicas will perform Irish and American fiddle tunes at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Easter, April 21.

Adults are invited to sample farm-made spirits from the on-site distillery both days. A selection of organic vegetable starts will be featured at a plant sale on Easter, April 21, with proceeds benefiting the Growing Veterans organization.

Bellewood Acres includes 62 acres with apple and pear orchards and a 14,000-square-foot building containing a market and gift shop, café, bakery and distillery. The property is located at 6140 Guide Meridian, about halfway between Bellingham and Lynden.

Whatcom New Life Assembly Egg Stravaganza

When: Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Whatcom New Life Assembly, 2290 Main St., Ferndale

Lettered Streets Covenant Church Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 20 at 10 a.m.

Where: Fouts Park Bellingham

Cost: Free

Lettered Streets Covenant Church will host the 11th annual Easter Egg Hunt. This family-friendly event will feature crafts, face painting, snacks, free family photos, and a special hunt area for toddlers.

Activities are geared towards children ages 10 and up.

Sumas Washington Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m.

Where: Sumas City Park between Third Street and Sumas Avenue

The Sumas Egg Hunt is perfect for kids up to 12. The Easter Bunny will also be there and will be available for pictures.

Arne Hanna Aquatic Center Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 20 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Where: Arne Hanna Aquatic Center, 1114 Potter St., Bellingham

Cost: $6.00

Bring your suit and towel for this egg hunt. The City of Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting two egg hunts in the aquatic center’s pool.

Semiahmoo Brunch and Egg Hunt

When: Sunday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Semiahmoo Resort, 9565 Semiahmoo Parkway, Blaine

Cost: Adults: $49, Kids 6-12: $18.95, Children 5 and under Free

Semiahmoo’s Easter Brunch will feature face painting for kids, a photo booth and live music with Chad Peterson. There will also two Easter egg hunts; one at 10 a.m. and the other at 2 p.m.

Boundary Bay’s Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt

When: Sunday, April 21 at 11 a.m.

Where: Boundary Bay, 1107 Railroad Ave, Bellingham

Cost: $30, $24 for seniors, $12 for kids 6-11 and free for kids 5 and under

The Easter Egg Hunt will start at 11 a.m. in Boundary Bay’s Beer Garden. Rain or shine, the egg hunt will go on. Don’t forget your Easter basket!

B-Town Kitchen Family Style Easter Brunch

When: Sunday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: B-Town Kitchen, 714 Lakeway Dr., Bellingham

Cost: $39 for adults, $30 for seniors, $24 for kids under 12 and kids 5 and under eat free

Kulshan Brewing Easter Keg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 6, 13 and 20

Where: First clue will be released from Kulshan’s Sunnyland brewery at noon

Cost: Free

Help Kulshan celebrate springtime with their annual Easter Keg Hunt! Every Saturday (April 6, 13 and 20) Kulshan will hide an empty keg around Whatcom County. After releasing the initial clue, Kulshan will post additional clues every hour on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter until the keg is found.
