Fall 2020 Arts Courses at Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth

News Release: Introducing fall classes at Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth. BAAY’s team is committed to meeting the emotional and creative needs of young people by fostering connection, play, and relationship building in the Bellingham community. Through online courses like Green Eggs & Ham and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, students will learn how to perform for the camera and help make these famous stories into movies.

  • Window Dressing 1 (1)
  • Window Dressing 2 (1)
  • Zoom Rehearsal (1)

BAAY’s fall season also includes classes in play devising, vocal performance, dance, acting, costuming, theatre tech, make-up and special effects, and more. There are discounted bundles available for students who want to explore multiple classes.

The junior bundle for ages 9-12 includes improv, dance, and singing classes. The senior bundle for ages 13-17 (18 by permission) includes classes in acting, dance, musical theatre fundamentals. The tech bundle for ages 9-17 (18 by permission) includes theatre tech, make-up and special effects, and costuming classes.

A student recently expressed that “BAAY has taught me that I can honestly do anything.” We want to make this feeling available to every child, especially during this time of isolation. BAAY’s first priority is the health and safety of our students and staff. We will enforce strict standards of hygiene and social distancing when we are finally able to be together again.

Schedule: Session 1 begins September 14, 2020 and Session 2 begins November 2, 2020

Student Tuition: $80-250 (varies depending on the course) Scholarships are available for families in need! Visit baay.org/theatre/scholarships to request support.

About BAAY: BAAY’s mission is to enrich children’s lives through the exploration of the arts. We believe that the arts are a basic and essential component of all children’s education. We serve approximately 1400 children ages 5-17 annually in our EduArts and Theatre programs, and provide over $30,000 a year in annual scholarship assistance to remove financial barriers to participation.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, school closures, and stay at home orders, the need for creative expression and community engagement is more important than ever. Learn how you can support the sustainability of this work at baay.org/donate.
