Sustainable Connections

Inspiration and Innovation at Bellingham’s Green Building Slam, 10x10x10

Sustainable Connections announces the first Bellingham Green Building Slam on Friday, December 7 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at Sylvia Center For the Arts, 205 Prospect Street, Bellingham.

A simple idea started years ago by the Northwest Eco Building Guild in Seattle, this will be Bellingham’s most fun and inspirational green building event of the year. Ten presenters will share innovative and sustainable projects that pushed the envelope in our built environment. Each will have just 10 minutes and 10 slides to explain what they learned, what they would do differently, and what contributions their project has made to our local community.

The Green Building Slam in Bellingham will offer attendees the opportunity to learn and meet the people and businesses making these projects happen. These include Small Planet Supply and Greenhome Solutions, the Pacific Northwest’s leaders in green building products. Inspiring content matched with great food from the Bellingham Cider Company and a no-host bar will ensure this event is fun for all.

“Some of our region’s most creative professionals will be discussing ideas like tiny homes, carbon smart building materials, aquaculture, and affordable sustainable design. If you have any curiosity about innovation in green building, do not miss this event! We have a lineup packed with amazing local projects and speakers,” says Rose Lathrop, Green Building Program Director at Sustainable Connections. “Come to see what’s possible and how we can reshape the built environment to find compelling solutions for our community.”

Early bird ticket prices end Friday, Nov. 16 at midnight and are $30-$40. Tickets are available at the door, but prices increase to $40-$50, so don’t miss out on the savings! Two and a half (2.5) HSW credits are also available for architects.
