Make.Shift Partners with Neighbors for 8th Annual Make.Sale Dec. 7 and 8

Make.Shift, Runaway Press, Cafe Velo and Icing on the Cake will partner to host Make.Shift’s Eighth Annual Holiday Make.Sale in the heart of Bellingham’s Arts District on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8 from noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature locally designed and handmade goods from dozens of vendors and Make.Shift tenants. The Annual Holiday Make.Sale will also feature music, refreshments, and activities for children and adults. Make.Shift’s holiday Make.Sale gives vendors the opportunity to sell their handmade goods before the holidays, network with other local artists and be a part of Make.Shift’s DIY-driven mission. The three venues will house vendors selling everything from handmade leather goods, artisan soaps, paintings, screen printed items, and much more. Attendees will also be entered into a raffle to win limited-edition swag after visiting all four participating locations. Entry for the event is free and open to all ages. For more information about the Annual Holiday Make.Sale, accessibility or Make.Shift in general please visit our website at makeshiftproject.com or contact Kristen at outreach@makeshiftproject.com. Locations are: Make.Shift Art Space, 306 Flora St.; Cafe Velo, 120 Prospect St. #2; Icing on the Cake, 201 Grand Ave.; Runaway Press, 205 Grand Ave. Make.Shift Art Space is a 501 ©3 nonprofit DIY venue dedicated to providing a space for all-ages art and music in Bellingham. The 8,000-square-foot space includes 21 studios, an award-winning gallery, a live music performance space and a low-power radio station KZAX 94.9. We are an all-ages space dedicated to a policy of no booze, no drugs, no jerks.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
