The Downtown Bellingham Partnership (DBP) is pleased to offer a competitive matching grant program to assist Downtown businesses with making improvements to their building facades, signage, and/or surroundings. This grant is established as a matching grant, in which the DBP will reimburse up to 50% of the cost of eligible improvements, to a maximum of $2,000 for a single property.
Criteria:
Eligible applicants must be physically located within the Downtown Bellingham neighborhood. Awards shall be based on creativity, visual impact, degree of change between before and after, and level of contribution to neighboring properties and downtown revitalization. The scope of the improvement project should have a quick installation and is for work done to the exterior of the site only; interior work or projects are not eligible. Examples include façade improvements (e.g. vinyl decals), signage, landscaping, plants and containers, paint, window signage, lighting and creative and imaginative exterior elements.
2022 Grant Timeline:
April 4, 2022 Application period opens.
April 25, 2022 Application period closes.
May 2022 Project committee selects recipient.
July 2022 Goal for projected and reimbursement to be completed.
