A self-guided Downtown Bellingham Historic Walking Tour¬†begins at the Whatcom Museum’s Old City Hall building and provides a 2 mile route circling through the downtown core, making stops at 45 locations. Printed tour booklets are available at the Bellingham Visitor Centers. The tour is also available as a mobile version for smartphones with internet connection, which is a nice way to see the historic photos and hear the narration as you are walking. Rail Trail Historic Walking Guides from Fairhaven to Downtown Bellingham are a great way to experience our waterfront history. The printed guide was developed by the Bellingham Railway Museum. It follows a 3.5 mile  trail, stopping at 35 signs to provide historical details. Rail Trail Walking Guides are also available at the Bellingham Visitor Center at 904 Potter Street.

The Good Time Girls in Bellingham offer guided walking tours in both historic Downtown and Fairhaven. Offerings include private and group tours, bachelor/ette themed tours and our world famous “Sin and Gin” and “Gore and Lore” seasonal tours. For more information or to book a tour, please visit


Outdoor adventure lovers take to the air with Bellingham Helicopter Tours available at Bellingham International Airport. Options include pre-scheduled flight itineraries or personalized tours of either one hour or half hour that can be tailored to the interests of the guest.



San Juan Cruises / Credit: San Juan CruisesWater views are a spectacular element of the Bellingham destination. Scenic whale watching tours in the Salish Sea are offered in the summer months by San Juan Cruises departing from Fairhaven, and Island Mariner Cruises departing from Squalicum Harbor.

Sea Kayak Tours in Bellingham are provided by Moondance Sea Kayak Adventures, with a variety of half-day, full-day and multi-day itineraries to choose from. All include a guided tour experience with qualified staff.

Artwork is for sale and artists are available (some demonstrating) to meet with visitors.
