Green Home Tours & Talks Return for Week-Long Celebration of Local Green Building Innovations

Sustainable Connections invites green building enthusiasts to this year’s Green Home Tours & Talks.  This event is a week-long celebration of local green building practices with a kick-off beginning June 24th.  Events are located across Bellingham showcasing local contractors and sustainability efforts.

Green Home Tours & Talks will begin with a happy hour kick-off event at the newly opened Stemma West on June 24th from 5:00-7:00 pm. The week will continue with one tour each day with homes presented by Bellingham Bay Builders, A1DesignBuild, and Martha Rose Construction.

“We have a unique mix of homes on the tour this year,” says Elizabeth Vaughn, Energy and Green Building Program Coordinator. “This new format, condensing the tour into one week, allows participants to explore each home in depth.”

Mark your calendar, invite your friends, and join the Green Home Tour.

For over 20 years, Sustainable Connections has highlighted local green homes as a part of their popular Green Home Tours & Talks. The tours provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the technology and techniques that are implemented in the most sustainable homes in our community.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
