Wild Things: Toddler+Family Nature Exploration

Designed for young children and their adults, Wild Things is a placed community program that provides a space for littles to explore the natural world around them at their own pace. We meet every Friday and Saturday year round, rain or shine, and take the time to foster children's natural curiosity and wonder! We encourage you to bring some snacks, as we always wrap up our time together with a "Snack and Story Time" - and read a few age-appropriate nature themed books while kids enjoy their snacks.

Older siblings are ALWAYS welcome, especially during the summer! Our locations change monthly to allow us to notice small changes week by week as the seasons shift. We will be meeting at Marine Park (near the covered pavilion) every Friday and Saturday in June to explore everything the shore has to offer - we often find crabs, nudibranches, sea stars, and lots of clams that shoot water.

The full schedule of monthly meeting locations can be found at wildwhatcom.org/wild-things.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
