Feel the exhilaration of tee-off and the triumph of a game well played while absorbing clean air and awe-inspiring views of snow-capped peaks. Whatcom County has plenty of courses to choose from. Several courses have captured the attention of leading golf writers with accolades from major golf magazines. See below for a list of courses. 

Location: 4342 Loomis Trail Road, Blaine 

This 18-hole, fully open to the public course, has one of the highest slope ratings in Washington State. Consistently smooth, fast and true greens, with water in play on all 18 holes.

Location: 205 W. Smith Road, Bellingham 

Golfers will enjoy gently rolling fairways and panoramic views of Mount Baker while being challenged by the prevailing gale winds. 18-hole Scottish Links-style course with water in play on eight holes and sand throughout. 

Location: 6827 Hannegan Road, Everson 

Well-maintained 9-hole, 5,170-yard course with great drainage making it playable year-round while you experience spectacular views of Mount Baker. Enormous greens, open fairways and just the right amount of hazards offer great golf for every level of golfer. 

Location: 8720 Semiahmoo Parkway, Blaine 

Designed by Arnold Palmer, this course brings water into play on five holes with 67 strategically placed bunkers. This 18-hole, private course includes rolling and generous fairways, with fast and challenging greens.

Must be a member or a guest at Semiahmoo Resort to access.  


Lake Padden Golf Course 

Location: 4882 Samish Way, Bellingham  

  • 18-hole densely-treed municipal golf course with a hilly back nine. 
  • Recognized as one of the finest municipal golf courses in the Pacific Northwest. This course is carved out of a second-generation old-growth forest. 


Shuksan Golf Club 

Location: 1500 E. Axton Road, Bellingham

  • 18-hole open modified links course offering spectacular views.
  • Ten Mile Creek contributes to the presence of water on 17 holes, while the course varies over 100 feet in elevation. 


Sudden Valley Golf & Country Club 

Location: 4 Clubhouse Circle, Bellingham 

  • Scenic 18-hole golf course with Stewart Mountains and Lake Whatcom as a backdrop.
  • Each hole has its own character including meadows, lakes, creeks, mature evergreens, and dramatic elevation changes along with some 47 bunkers. 

   

Dakota Creek Golf Course 

Location: 3258 Haynie Road, Custer 

  • 18-hole public golf course known for its variety of Northwest Wildlife including bald eagles, deer, and salmon spawning grounds. 
  • Offers a lot of character, including some of the best views in Whatcom County with a low-key atmosphere. 


Grandview Golf Club 

Location: 7738 Portal W7738 Portal Way, Custer Custer 

  • 18-hole public course that offers enjoyment for golfers of all abilities.
  • 10 minutes from the Peace Arch Border Crossing with Canada. 
  • Easy walking layout and challenging holes, many with water. 


Bellingham Golf & Country Club 

Location: 3729 Meridian Street, Bellingham

  • 18-hole private, "old school’’ course, in the heart of the city with all the amenities.
  • Must be a member or the guest of a member. 

Whatcom County is home to five disc golf courses all playable for those new to the sports while also capable of challenging even the most experienced players. Many even host tournaments and other events throughout the year.
