Annette Bagley

Sunday, June 16 is the day to honor Dad with a fun activity he’s sure to enjoy. Here’s a list of ideas in Bellingham and throughout the county:

For the Baseball Fan

Take him out to the ballgame! This year, the Bellingham Bells are home on Father’s Day, against the Yakima Pippins at 1 p.m. What could be more fun than a day at the ballpark with Dad? The Bells really know how to have a good time. It’s family friendly, with games for kids, and food and beverage onsite. General admission is only $7.50 on the grassy hill (Bring Your Own Blankets) or metal bleachers, and Grandstand seating is $11.

Father’s Day Car Show at Bellewood Acres

If your Dad loves classic cars, take him to Bellewood Acres in Lynden from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 16 for the fifth annual Father’s Day Car Show. Admission is free for spectators. Live music will be presented by a local favorite, Prozac Mountain Boys, and breakfast and a barbecue lunch will be offered.

Net proceeds will support the Humane Society of Whatcom County, Bellingham Food Bank, Vietnam Veterans Organization and Alzheimer’s Association of Washington.

Schooner Zodiac Father’s Day Brunch

Take Father’s Day brunch to the next level this year. Join the crew of the Schooner Zodiac for a morning of raising sails and enjoying drinks from the ship’s bar. Enjoy brunch from the deck of this classic 1920’s sailing yacht as you take in the views of Bellingham Bay.

Shock him with an amazing Father’s Day

Spark Museum of Electrical Invention features the MegaZapper show on Sundays at 2:30 p.m. with 10-foot arcs of purple lightning and 4 million volts of electricity from one of the largest Tesla coils in the nation.
