Bellingham City Club Presents Covid Vaccines Webinar

Bellingham City Club hosts two expert panelists to answer our community’s questions about the Covid-19 vaccine and its rollout. This free online program will be presented via Zoom on Wednesday, February 24 starting at 12:15 p.m.. Pre-registration is required for this event and the link will be sent via email the day prior. Register now at https://bhamcityclub.wildapricot.org/event-4143163/registration.

In the coming months, Washington State will attempt to vaccinate millions of state residents. How is our state performing during the largest vaccination drive in American history? How is the new federal administration boosting state efforts to get vaccine into arms faster and more efficiently? What protections are in place to ensure equitable access to the vaccine?  How safe are the vaccines? Our expert panelists SheAnne Allen and Mary Huynh will answer many of our COVID-19 vaccine-related questions and provide important updates regarding Washington’s vaccine roll out.

SheAnne Allen is the Covid-19 Vaccine Director & Deputy PCH Response Director at the Washington State Department of Health. Allen received her Master’s in Public Health from the University of WA in 2013 and her BA from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has been with the department for 15 years. A large portion of her career was spent in Tuberculosis in a variety of roles. Allen started her career as a health educator and is a master certified health education specialist.

Mary Huynh serves as the Deputy Director for the Office of Immunization and Child Profile at the Washington State Department of Health. Huynh received her dual Masters of Public Health and Public Policy from the University of Michigan in 2005, and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington. She is the CDC Public Health Advisor assigned to Washington State since 2015.

Community members are encouraged to join live for this program so that their questions may be answered. But, this program (as well as previous programs) will be available in March on our website at bellinghamcityclub.org.

Bellingham City Club’s mission is to inform, connect, and engage our community to strengthen the civic health of our region. Membership is open to all who support our mission and involves modest annual dues to pay speaker expenses and support operations. More information is available at bellinghamcityclub.org.
