BMX Racing League Helps Kids Learn to Love Biking in Bellingham

The newly-established BMX Racing League  offers the community of Bellingham a unique way to engage kids and parents alike, through exciting programming that gets the whole family back on bikes – at Bellingham BMX. The League allows new families to learn how the sport works, and riders to progress gradually, riding only with other beginners. At this level, the focus is on fun, developing bike handling skills, spending quality family time, and meeting new friends. Designed to give riders, ages 4-15 (and parents 25+) the opportunity to find, and even re-ignite the love of riding bicycles, participants are introduced the sport of BMX Racing through structured-participation – taking them from their first pedals, all the way to bona fide BMX Racers, as riders experience healthy competition and friendships that come from a Beginners-only environment. US Olympian & BMX Racing League Co-Founder, Donny Robinson says, the five-week League format - which is aligned with other youth activities - is easy for families to accommodate in their already-busy schedules. The league will begin August 30, 2017 and will cost $130  for the league enrollment fee, which includes five weeks of racing and instruction by Bellingham BMX staff, a League jersey, number plate, end-of-season award, pizza party, and access to all demo equipment. Parents can even join the League with their children for only $65. Bellingham BMX Racing League Fall season runs from August 30 to September 27, with sessions on Wednesdays, from 4:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Come to a FREE Open House event on August 23, from 4:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. To learn more and to register, visit the links below: BMX Racing League Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/embed/iZMqx4BIwMw?rel=0 Bellingham BMX Open House: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bellingham-bmx-racing-league-open-house-tickets-36933550243 BMX Racing League - Youth Registration http://bmxracingleague.com/bellingham-wa/ BMX Racing League - Parent Registration http://bmxracingleague.com/bellingham-wa-parent-enrollment/ Bellingham BMX is located at 5022 Guide Meridian in Bellingham, Washington.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
