Celebrate, Learn, and Give Back at the Earth Day Block Party in Bellingham April 22

Looking to give back and have fun this Earth Day? Join Sustainable Connections, the Bellingham Farmers Market, Boundary Bay Brewery, and Aslan Brewing Co. as they take over Railroad Avenue in Bellingham for the Love Your Leftovers Block Party, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Earth Day vendors will line the block in front of Boundary Bay Brewery, and the Farmers Market will be in full swing. Enjoy live music, local food, and games for the whole family while learning how to make a positive impact. Love Your Leftovers will shine a spotlight on reducing food waste in our community as it is still the U.S.’ biggest waste stream and the easiest for each of us to reduce. In fact, 40% of all food currently produced is wasted, costing us $160 billion each year and using lots of precious resources!

This Earth Day celebration will give everyone the tools, tricks, and tips they need to make a big difference by cutting down on the food waste they create. Learn how to make your own worm bin, watch cooking demos that will teach you how to cook “zero waste”, bring a bucket to take home free compost, and enjoy interactive booths.

Aslan and Boundary Bay will also be saving the planet by pouring Captain Planet IPA and Cedar Dust IPA, donating proceeds from both beers to NSEA and Whatcom Trail Association. Love the Earth and Love Your Leftovers!
