Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen Celebrates Eat Local Month in August 2020

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen celebrates Eat Local Month in August this year. Using 50% local products in many of the items at the Kitchen, in 2020 Chuckanut is highlighting local Cairnspring Mills flour in the pizzas and calzones on the menu. Bellingham Pasta will be highlighted as well in various options on the specials menu too.

Port of Skagit friends Cairnspring Mills, around the corner from Chuckanut’s South Nut Tap Room, produces fresh, stone-milled flour from wheat varietals grown by regional farmers. Cairnspring celebrates the unique flavor profiles and superior baking properties of grains that have not been available to professional or home bakers before. Cairnspring Glacier Peak flour is used in Chuckanut’s new menu of calzones and pizzas. Bellingham Pasta Company has been supplying the Kitchen with fresh pasta for over 8 years!

In the past Chuckanut’s Mac n Cheese was made with their fresh shell pasta but since re-opening during Covid, Chuckanut is using fresh penne pasta with truffle oil and Kolsch cheese sauce. Other various specials will be introduced during the month that highlight additional local suppliers as well. Stop in the Kitchen during the month of August to experience some of the local food products used in Chuckanut’s menu and enjoy Chuckanut’s celebrated biers too. The Local Specials menu will be updated daily on the Specials board as soon as you enter the restaurant or ask your server what the latest Eat Local menu items that are available during your visit.

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen, located at 601 West Holly St, Bellingham, was awarded the National Small Brewpub/Brewer of the Year 2009 and National Small Brewery/Brewer of the Year 2011 at the Great American Beer Festival. Currently both locations offer outdoor seating (covered and waterside) as well as to-go pick-up for kegs, growlers and bottles of Chuckanut beer. A full food menu is available at North Nut. The South Nut Tap Room at 11937 Higgins Airport Way, Burlington is located at the Port of Skagit. Now both locations are open 7 days per week: North Nut (Monday-Sunday 12-8 pm) and South Nut (Monday-Thursday 3-6 pm and Friday-Sunday 1-6 pm) during phase 2 of Covid rules.
