Nick Biello and the Vagabond Sextet at Sylvia Center for the Arts Feb. 13

Whatcom Jazz Music Arts Center presents NYC saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist and composer Nick Biello at 7 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2019 at Sylvia Center for the Arts in Bellingham, WA.

Hailed as “a brash new voice to New York’s vibrant jazz scene,” by AllAboutJazz.com, Biello’s compositions and arrangements have been performed by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Dave Koz and Kelly Rowland. His music has been televised on ABC and ESPN and heard in venues in Las Vegas, LA, NYC and festivals around the world. For this event he teams up with esteemed Seattle trombonist David Marriott and Portland’s Charlie Porter, the first musician ever to be awarded First prize in the National Trumpet Competition in both jazz and classical divisions and who Wynton Marsalis refers to as “fiery and intelligent.”

Joined by the impressive Vagabond Quartet rhythm section, this evening in the Lucas Hicks Theatre is going to be one to remember. Nick Biello (sax), Charlie Porter (trumpet), David Marriott (trombone), Sebastien Ammann (piano), Alex Tremblay (bass), Jake Robinson (drums).

Sylvia Center for the Arts is located at 205-207 Prospect St., Bellingham, WA. Tickets are $20 general, $5 students, available at the door after 6 p.m. WJMAC members are free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Program subject to change. Check website for more details wjmac.org, or email info@wjmac.org.
