Port of Bellingham Marine Life Center Re-opens with New Procedures to Protect Public Health

The Port of Bellingham is excited to re-open the Marine Life Center on July 20, 2020 with new procedures to minimize public interaction, increase sanitation, and protect the health of visitors and staff. Staff and critters have been saving your seat over the last few months and we look forward to welcoming you back! We ask for kindness and patience as we practice safely and successfully moving the community through this facility.

The Marine Life Center will be free of charge and open to the public during the following hours beginning on, Monday July 20th:

Mondays: Walk-in’s will be welcome from 10 a.m. – 2 p. m. One group at a time will check in at the staff table and enter for 30 minutes to visit the Salish Sea critters. The Marine Life Center will then close for 15 minutes for staff to sanitize the facility before re-opening to the next group.

Wednesdays/Saturdays: By Appointment (see appointment times and process below)

  • 10:00 a.m.
  • 10:45 a.m.
  • 11:30 a.m.
  • 12:15 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m.

Visitors to the Marine Life Center are requested to wear face coverings in compliance with a statewide order.

Our hours and procedures will be a little different from last summer. We are open to suggestions for improvement and appreciate your patience as we work to safely re-open this popular facility to the community.

Email marinelifecenter@portofbellingham.com or call 360-671-243. Include:
Name, phone number and requested date and time. Please visit Port of Bellingham social media for updates and procedure changes.
