Western Washington University to Offer Summer Youth Programs for Grades K-12

Western Washington University will again offer a wide array of programs for kids in grades K-12 throughout summer 2017. For the past 35 years, Western’s youth programs have encouraged kids to explore a favorite topic and consider opportunities in higher education. Participants experience hands-on learning and gain exposure to a college campus under the instruction of Western’s top-quality educators. Below are the programs being offered this summer:

Scholarships for middle school and high school students from Whatcom County are available through the Assistance League of Bellingham. Youth Programs welcomes a tax deductible donation to the Youth Programs Scholarship fund to provide the opportunity to enroll for students who can’t participate otherwise. Visit the web for more information at http://assistanceleaguebellingham.org/scholarship/. WWU Summer youth programs are also available in Anacortes and Poulsbo. Anacortes programs are held at the Shannon Point Marine Center, while Poulsbo programs are at the SEA Discovery Center. For more information on Western Washington University Youth Programs, visit wwu.edu/ee/youth/ or e-mail youth@wwu.edu or call (360)650-3308. WWU is an equal opportunity institution. For disability accommodation, please contact Extended Education at (360)650-3308 or ExtendedEd@wwu.edu

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
