Western Washington University to Offer Summer Youth Programs for Grades K-12

Western Washington University will again offer a wide array of programs for kids in grades K-12 throughout summer 2017. For the past 35 years, Western’s youth programs have encouraged kids to explore a favorite topic and consider opportunities in higher education. Participants experience hands-on learning and gain exposure to a college campus under the instruction of Western’s top-quality educators. Below are the programs being offered this summer:

College Quest (entering grades 10- 12)
Global Connections (entering grades 4-6)
Grandparents “U” (entering grades 1-8)
Odyssey of Science and Arts (entering grades 4-9)
Summer English Adventure Camp at WWU (ages 11-17)
Summer Youth Theatre Institute (entering grades 1-6)
Summerwinds (entering grades 6-12)
Suzuki Violin (ages 4-15)
Western Kids Camp (entering grades 1-6)
Western Inspires Leadership Development (WILD)(entering grades 6-12)
WWU Lakewood Jr. Sailing Camp (entering grades 6-12)

Scholarships for middle school and high school students from Whatcom County are available through the Assistance League of Bellingham. Youth Programs welcomes a tax deductible donation to the Youth Programs Scholarship fund to provide the opportunity to enroll for students who can’t participate otherwise. Anacortes programs are held at the Shannon Point Marine Center, while Poulsbo programs are at the SEA Discovery Center.
