Whatcom County Health Department Seeks Community Feedback on COVID-19 Prevention Practices

Whatcom County Health Department, in partnership with Whatcom Unified Command and researchers at Western Washington University, has released an online survey regarding practices to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Local COVID-19 response partners are seeking community member engagement in the survey in order to better understand people’s choices to adopt personal prevention practices such as limiting social gatherings or wearing masks in public or social settings.

Interested residents are encouraged to participate by going to the Whatcom County COVID-19 Survey to give input. The survey is anonymous and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Transmission of COVID-19 has increasingly shifted from long-term living facilities to social gatherings, where people may view the risks of spreading COVID-19 differently than they do when they are in public spaces. Whatcom County residents have already adapted to prevention measures such as limitations on gathering size and wearing face coverings around others to limit the spread of COVID-19; however, community leaders acknowledge there are still many challenges to overcome before the virus is mitigated.
