Boundary Bay Brewery Releases Bootlegger Barrel Series and Hosts Speakeasy Event Dec. 21

To mark the release of its 2017 Bootlegger Barrel Series, Boundary Bay Brewery in Bellingham is hosting a 1920's themed release party on December 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Mountain Room. The Bootlegger Speakeasy will feature historical trivia by The Good Time Girls, and Boundary Bay Catering will provide complimentary snacks. This event is for attendees 21 and older. Admission is free. "We started the Bootlegger Barrel Series in 2014 hoping to impart exquisite flavors on already delicious handcrafted brews,” said Boundary Bay Owner, Ed Bennett. “So far, the journey exceeds expectations and has also allowed for intriguing experimentation. For this particular beer, we used a mix of barrel sources. We hope you enjoy!” Several beers will be served on tap, including the Goat Without Borders, a tequila -aged Goat in the Boat, which is a passion fruit IPA, as well as the Aged Highland Scotch Ale, and three special surprises. The Bootlegger Stout and a barrel-aged Thirsty Ghost will be bottled and available for purchase. The Bootlegger Stout is a blend of Imperial Oatmeal Stout, aged in Rum, Scotch, Bourbon, and maple syrup barrels. The barrel-aged Thirsty Ghost is a blend of non-oaked beer and Thirsty Ghost aged in whiskey and bourbon barrels from Chuckanut Bay Distillery. Boundary Bay Brewery is an independently owned and operated brewpub located in downtown Bellingham. Since 1995, they’ve been making handcrafted beer and fresh, local food for the Bellingham community. Boundary Bay Brewery houses a Taproom, family-friendly Bistro, outdoor dining with a patio and a beer garden.
