Columbia Hospitality Adds Fairhaven Village Inn to its Growing Portfolio

Northwest-based hospitality management and consulting company, Columbia Hospitality Inc., announced its new management and operating agreement with the Fairhaven Village Inn. Located in the heart of the Fairhaven Historical District of Bellingham, Wash., the hotel blends the charm and personality of yesterday with the comforts of today for a relaxing guest experience. Featuring 22 spacious guestrooms (including one suite) with views of Fairhaven Village Green or the harbor and bay, the property offers modern amenities and thoughtful touches for every traveler.

“We are excited to announce that the fantastic Fairhaven Village Inn has joined our dynamic portfolio,” said Columbia Hospitality’s founder and CEO John Oppenheimer. “Its central location in the historic district offers a small-town atmosphere within the greater city of Bellingham, making it the perfect stop for any type of traveler.”

Steeped in colorful 19th-century architecture and history, the Inn is surrounded by blocks of restaurants, shopping and bayside trails. Guests can explore the Victorian-era red brick buildings, catch an outdoor movie at Fairhaven Village Green, browse the multiple independent bookstores or take a scenic drive down Chuckanut Drive, located only minutes away.

“We’re thrilled to have Columbia Hospitality leading our management and operations,” said co-owner Gene Shannon. “Their exceptional portfolio of boutique hotels across multiple states has demonstrated their commitment to preserving the individuality of each property, while still creating an amazing experience for guests through thoughtful amenities and unique programming.”

At the Fairhaven Village Inn, guests enjoy all the amenities and services expected from a first-class boutique hotel, including complimentary parking and WiFi. Additional offerings include pastries and seasonal fruit served each morning, as well as a welcoming 24-hour library lounge with coffee and tea service, daily newspapers, board games, puzzles and books. For the traveler looking to raise a glass, there’s the deco era-inspired Galloway’s Cocktail Bar, featuring a selection of fine wines, microbrews and craft cocktails paired with a tempting menu of savory bites and locally made desserts.

“Our goal is to have our guests fall in love with this property as much as we did,” said co-owner Connie Shannon. “As soon as you walk through the front door, you will be welcomed with exceptional service, spacious rooms and a location you cannot beat in the heart of this beautiful village by the sea.”

The Fairhaven Village Inn opened in 1999 and was purchased by Connie and Gene Shannon, who first discovered it as guests themselves. Nicole Newton will serve the Inn as Area General Manager.
