August Is National Dog Appreciation Month!

In honor of this, The Millie Project and Are You My Human? are hosting Dine Out For Doggies with area restaurants, brewpubs, and coffee houses

In Whatcom County over 500 puppies and dogs are abandoned and in need of homes each year. To help these pups and dogs, The Millie Project and Are You My Human? are hosting Dine Out For Doggies August 10 – August 31. The Millie Project and Are You My Human? help rescue dogs find loving homes, support local organizations doing lifesaving work, and build a community of people who believe every dog deserves a chance.

Over fifteen local restaurants, brewpubs and coffee houses are joining the campaign by donating a portion of their proceeds to help puppies and dogs find their forever homes. Customers can enjoy specialties like a Pupperoni Pizza from Zeeks, a Pup Cup from The Admiralty, a puppy friendly Doggy Patty from Doug’s Burgers, all while supporting this great cause.

“We honor the companionship and joy that dogs bring into our lives,” said Devin Dietzen, owner of the PetStop. “That is why we are so proud to support this campaign that encourages dog adoption and stewardship from responsible shelters such as The Millie Project and Are You My Human?”

“As a dog loving and pet friendly brewpub, we are excited to participate in Dine Out for Doggies,” said Ryan Flood, co-owner of Menace Brewing. “We even made a special brew in honor of the golden retriever name sake of The Millie Project—Golden Girls Golden Ale!”
